remember me?

apparently i forgot i had a blog.
and if you have a blog of your own, you know the feeling of just being SO far behind that you just continue to put it off. And now i have three whole months FULL of blog worthy items that i just am not sure how to do it all.
bullets will probably be our best friends by the time this is through.
and thanks to instagram, i am reminded of things i did.
how lame is that?
but i gotta do what i gotta do...
and here we go.

- Birthday celebrations were great. spent it with the best family and friends i could ever have. i was spoiled and definitely milked it for all it was worth. from dinner, movie and ice cream with christy to karaoke night with my girls, and lunch with a fab friend and cutest wittle baby B, AND a delish ice cream cake to celebrate the start of my second decade of life. oh yeah and the announcement of my becoming an AUNT was pretty stellar. and when i say "pretty stellar", i mean i BAWLED and squealed for a good 15 minutes. i would say i lived that weekend to the fullest.

- i finished up my second year of college at USU. i am just growin up too darn fast. with the completion of the spring semester, i also had my last semester as a Resident Assistant. It was definitely my time to hang up the master keys, hand in my final roster verification, and say "See ya never" to on campus housing. I thoroughly enjoyed my two years on campus. they are two years that i will never ever forget and i can say that those two years involved the biggest changes and growth i have encountered thus far. i will always have a special place in my heart for bullen hall and valley view tower.

- good thing i have an even bigger place in my heart for my three floor, ten bedroom, 5 bath, beautiful home that i get to live in with my most best friends ever this next year. words cannot describe my excitement for this upcoming year. SOO much is going to happen and even though it may be a little intimidating to welcome that much amount of change within my group of friends, i wouldn't change our situation for anything. I am already antsy to get my booty back to logan. but first i gotta work previously mentioned booty off to save all the dough i possibly can.

- which brings me to my next bullet. i scored the best job. remember how obsessed with anything wedding i am? well i get to spend my days, nights, weekends, at weddings!! help plan, decorate, calm brides down, avoid scary mother of the brides at all costs, and mooch off the caterers for free food. oh yeah, and plan my whole entire future wedding, all while making a pretty penny. can i get a "HOLLA"???

-  my sweet keaton has been out 9 months. i repeat, NINE MONTHS!!! i could be giving birth to a child right now with that amount of time. (no worries on that one though, we will leave all of that to kacey.) it blows my mind that this is still all happening, let alone a year has almost come and gone. it hasn't been easy, ask my poor mother who deals with my moods. but there is never a single day that i am not crazy about my russian and this experience. check out his blog here! he never ceases to amaze me. what a guy.

that is pretty much my life.
real exciting.
"buckle up, its gonna get wild" worthy?
not really, but i truly enjoy my life.
i am blessed every day with this life.
i wouldn't change a thing or trade it for the world.

i miss keat.
that's all.
but i couldn't imagine him doing anything other than serving a mission right now.
ive definitely had my sad moments,
but the good ones definitely make up for it.

i just had to get that off my chest.
im good.
now onto things you actually are interested in...
maybe.
actually, probably not.
but for my sanity i will continue.

you know, i have never really been a fan of valentine's day.
and ive even had a boyfriend for the last 4 out of 5 of them...haha
i have always been in las vegas for volleyball tournaments, or up at school like last year.
this year, i definitely had a little extra bitterness towards this holiday, but that is just me being a selfish and emotional teenage girl.
it turned out to be the best valentine's day EVER.
since my dad was in china and boyfriend was in russia,
mother and i decided to hit up the Lady Antebellum concert!
best decision we could have made!!!
seats were up high due to our late purchase on the tickets, but i could see everything and didn't mind.
ah.
it was magical.
powerful.
sexy. (really though)
so incredibly great.
and darius rucker just happened to be performing with them.
keat's fave.
i may or may not have shed a tear during the majority of his performance because all i could imagine was sitting next to keat in the car singing at the top of his lungs to these songs.
there is that emotional girl again...my bad.
mother told me to stop.
i didn't realize how ridiculous i probably looked until later and am only slightly embarrassed.
the tears were shed for a good cause, alright?
plus darius rucker is mighty good looking.
i didn't mind.
here are just a couple vids.

so anyway, concert was great. my valentine was greater, and the evening was solid.
no complaints here.

the next night was equally great.
my two best friends are co-directors of a club called Best Buddies.
a college student is paired up with someone with an intellectual disability.
there are events/activities each month and this month was a valentine's day dance.
i have been excited for this for over a month now!!
i am so lucky to be able to be involved with Best Buddies.
it makes me the happiest girl in town to be able to hang out with the coolest people.
everyone looked to snazzy all dressed up in their fancy clothes.
i think it is safe to say that we all danced our booties off on that dance floor.
this is Matt.

sweetest guy you will ever meet.
we danced and talked about how much we love watching movies
and his cute nieces and nephews and how he is their favorite uncle.

and this is Jan.

he has an impeccable memory.
he recited poems and star trek to me.
notice the tie.
simply the coolest guy around.

we all had a blast this night.
nice work Jo and Mel.

other than those lovely evenings, not much has been goin on in my world.
working the holiday coverage was uneventful.
full of harry potter, sappy romance movies, and weird illness.
for the win.

only twoooo point five weeks until spring break.
oh yeah.
and my BIRTHDAY.

stay classy.
love you all.

alexis paul sweat the vet.

mmmhmmm.

dearest lexi got accepted into the Vet Program at Missouri!
seriously this is like med school people.
BIGGGG DEALLL.
i could not be more proud of my cowgirl.
she has worked so incredibly hard for this.
gone through so much stress.
and it all paid off.
lexi is one of the funniest people i have ever met.
so straight to the point.
so honest.
so passionate.
so fierce.
so herself.
i love love love this girl and am seriously the luckiest to call her one of my greatest friends for the rest of our lives.

mary, scotty, and i took her out to dinner to celebrate.
company was fab.
food...not so much.
dang you beehive grill.

even though Missouri is so far away and four years is a long time (kinda)
i can't imagine lex doing anything else.
she was meant for this and is gonna kick every other vet student's booty.

love you alexis. now go find yourself a hot cowboy and save those animals' lives!!

1/27/2008 & 1/28/2012

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 4 years now.
a decision that has changed my life in more ways than i could have possibly imagined.
i think it is so important to celebrate this day.
read through my journal entries from around this time.
look through pictures.
and just remember the sweetest/strongest spirit that was present.
i am so lucky.
blessed.
I sometimes can't believe that it has only been 4 years.
kind of feels waaayyyy longer than that.
but in the end,
it was the most special day that will define the rest of my life.
a decision i made that will bless the lives of my future family.

i can only find 3 whole pictures from the whole day on my computer...
kind of breaks my heart.

WAY funny, right??
they made me laugh.
what about pictures with, oh I don't know..my family? the missionaries?? I will have to locate them.

but what makes this even better...
my best friend, you know this boy named keaton..
he gets to change the lives of people in Russia just like the Elders that taught me changed my life.
and is doing it right at this moment.
it is almost 3 in the afternoon right now in Russia and that means he has performed his first baptism.
what an incredible feeling it is knowing that he gets to be that person that Evan will forever remember who taught him the truth.
AND to do this on his 4 month mark!

yep.
you heard it.
one sixth of the way done.
most people can't believe it has already been four months.
i beg to differ..
but i will definitely take it!
make sure you check out next week's email from Elder Flitton here.
i am sure it will be an exciting one!!

do you ever feel like your to do lists are never ending?
that having even 28 hours in a day would still not be enough?
do you ever forget to eat a meal because you forgot to set a reminder to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
has the thought ever crossed your mind that instead of going to school to be a home ec. teacher, you would rather study engineering and learn how to build a time machine to make the next couple years fly by?

yeah, me too.

but its ok.
because i am living in the moment.
i am learning to enjoy the little things.
crossing off things on my to do list.
walking a little bit slower than usual home from class so i can have a free moment to myself and not have to be thinking about anything.
meeting new people and learning about them.
laughing at my silly mistakes.
filling up my water bottle at the drinking fountain and actually having it be cold instead of the regular room temperature water!
remembering that i am surrounded by a billion people who care for me and are more than willing to relieve even an ounce of my stress.

understanding that my Heavenly Father knows me perfectly and knows what needs to happen in order for me to become the person He wants me to be.

no matter the craziness that gets placed in front of me,
i am grateful to know there is a bigger picture.
this is only a glimpse of what is to be.

the little things are what make the big things, big things.
i gotta always remember that.

thanks for the vent sesh.
i am feeling much better now.
