Even though we didn't get to eat any of our Rita's Italian Ice, I'm glad our guests enjoyed it.
And although the golf carts that we rented to shuttle our guests from the church to the reception died 20 minutes in, everyone still showed up. (We have the best family members who immediately got in their cars and shuttled people back and forth!!)
All of the decorations are random pieces from the DI or things that I already had or collected from various antique stores and just spray painted or made them look gold.
My great-aunt, who is also my boss at This Is The Place, helped with my flowers! It was so much fun having all my aunts, my grandma, mom and sister together two days before, arranging all of the centerpieces, bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres - yes I looked up how to spell that. I decided I wanted to incorporate the gold into my flowers, so I spray painted about half of the baby's breath that we ordered. We ordered the flowers wholesale and that saved us a lot of money! Plus, it was super fun!! I've always wanted to work in a flower shop and I think that is the closest I will ever get!
Our cake was given to us as a gift and I am SO grateful for that! I didn't want anything spectacular because I didn't want to be left with cake for months after the wedding! I love the multiple cake style that is popular right now, so we went with 3 different sized cakes. I found the cake stands at random shops in Salt Lake. We just put some left over baby's breath around the edges and that was that!
We had so many generous friends who were willing to help with so many things! We can't thank everyone enough for all of the help and support we were shown the months leading up to the wedding and on the actual day! It was the perfect day! I think it should be a new tradition that you have anniversary parties every year! Why not?! It would be a blast! I wouldn't mind wearing my dress again.
Here are the rest of the photos from that evening:
Perfect day/night doesn't even begin to describe this day.
See you at our one year anni party 7.12.15
