Tatum Ruby || Big Sis

I have been so excited to share this post! My sister, Kacey, is having another babe!! She is due in November and we are all excited to meet him or her. Even though they haven't confirmed the gender with their doctor yet, I am 95% sure it is a boy. I was certain that Tatum was a girl and look at her now.

The last time I watched Tatum, I decided to put my camera to use and do some cute picures of Tatum in her "big sister" shirt. Her personality is full of so much sass, spunk, and curiosity. It was fun to simply follow her around for 30 minutes and see what I could capture on camera. 

It was field trip day at Wheeler Farm, so you could imagine the amount of distractions there were all around us. There was so much to see and you better believe Tatum was going to see it all. Plus it was rainy and cold. Cue mini mallows as bribery. 

I love hanging with my girl and I can't wait until her little sib arrives this fall!

Giving thanks weekend

We had such a great time down in Dixie with my family this Thanksgiving weekend. My grandparents have a gorgeous new home in Dixie Springs and we were lucky enough to be their guests for the holiday.
Keaton and I both had to work on Wednesday before thanksgiving, so we got a late start on the drive. We arrived at 11:30pm after a nerve-wracking drive full of cop cars and lots of deer popping out of nowhere…Utah drivers are NUTS.
We had a day full of lounging around, cooking, ATV rides to the dunes, and good company.
Can I make a confession? I hate turkey…and stuffing…and cranberry sauce…and yams…and pumpkin pie.
So my plate was loaded with rolls, mashed potatoes, corn, and green beans. FEAST.

We played games, watched football and the parade, and relaxed the rest of the day.
The next day, we headed into town for some shopping. Then later that night, it was time to -OFFICIALLY- start the Christmas season!!! I was so excited to go to Tuacahn for the live nativity. It was well done with beautiful music and live animals. It definitely was the perfect start to this season.

I am so grateful for family and the time we spent together. I loved being in the great weather and road tripping with Keat. We were sad to have missed the big Flitton family dinner, but good thing we have many more upcoming parties to enjoy together!!

I am grateful for this time to reflect on the happiest parts of our lives and WHY we have so many great things in our lives. Our Savior is the reason for it all and I'm grateful for that knowledge.

Miss Tatum loves me and hates me sometimes...

It was a jolly holiday with you, Burt.

Halloween has come and gone, I can't believe it.
This year, Keaton and I had a party at my work that was on the 10th, so there was no option for a "last minute costume on Halloween". I turned to my good friend Google for some inspiration. I knew we couldn't spend a lot of money on them and I wanted it to be a couple's costume. Obvs.
Mary Poppins and Burt the chimney sweeper seemed like a very doable costume!

I already had the majority of what we needed (even a real chimney sweep, thanks to Keat's dad) and was going to borrow a few more, minus:
-The hat
-The bow tie
-A vest for Keaton

I turned to amazon.com for the hat - found it for 5 bucks. Added some dollar store flowers and spray painted it black and voila, I had a Mary Poppins hat!

I decided to just get some red ribbon and tie it in a bow. Easy enough.

Burlington had a great vest for an even better price!

We were at goodwill looking for a vest when I found the most PERFECT skirt. 6 bucks. Done.

I was thrilled with how simple it was and how big of a hit we were. SO much fun.
We wore our costumes three times, to the Witches Ball at This is the Place, our ward trunk-or-treat (hi, we were the ONLY adults who dressed up that didn't have kids - talk about embarrassing), and again on Halloween night when we had dinner with my parents and took Tatum to a few houses for some free candy.

I was able to watch Tatum during the day because I had the day off and she didn't have school. We went to the Aquarium for trick-or-treating and cute activities they had planned. We matched, it was cute.

We ended the night with some hot chocolate and movies at home, just the two of us. I could get used to the holidays as a married couple!!
