tatum ruby close is the greatest thing to happen to my fam. seriously. we are all completely smitten and obsessed and practically swoon with every little smirk, coo, and sneeze our sweet girl makes. and who's to blame us... just look at her.
Ok. the Ruby shrine is finished for the night. Notice how she doesn't look the same in any of these photos. She is constantly growing into her own person and her personality is showing more with each day! Feel free to join in on the swooning. I love my TatumTot. Can't believe it has already been almost two months!

i'm baaaack.
So, here's the thing.
i really dislike blogging.
i admitted it.
I have been a very consistent journal writer this year (snaps for chan), so I justify not blogging.
I am not going to do a whole shpeel of whats been going on in my life the last who-knows-how-long.
because, let's face it...
A) If we are friends via fb, instagram, twitter, or heaven for bid face to face, you know EXACTLY what has been going on.
or
B) Who really reads those long and annoying posts anyway. I know I never make it through other people's recaps alive, so why bother putting you through the pain?
Ask my why I decided to return to the world of careless babbling as I stare ever so zombie like at my computer screen...
I have been home alone this entire week and I've pretty much just run out of things to do...
a face lift to the bloggyboo sounded entertaining enough.
then I realized i dont know what the crap is going on and it has taken me a lifetime to just add some freaking zigzags to the background. gaaaaahh.
but isn't it cute?
i will mention one..ok 2 or 3 things though.
1. my niece is definitely way cuter and sweeter and snugglier and fluffier, and teenier than anyone elses.
2. my hottie mishy boy has ten months left in the mother land. holla! only ten more months til i get my giant fur hat!!!
3. i have never realized how bad my love for One Tree Hill is until this week. It's kind of gross when I look at my phone and think to call Lucas or Brooke up to hang out, or wish Haley was my bff so she can tutor me in Chem. Or that I have dreams about Nathan Scott being my boyfriend more often than i do of Keaton...shoot. Please don't judge me too harshly.
I'm totes just so reds for the holidayzzz.

Life
Sometimes it can surprise you. In a way you would have NEVER expected. Maybe it's just this point in my life where I'm starting to really honestly think about where I'm going to be in 10, 20, 50 years. And I've been lucky enough to have confidence that I just might have known... Until now. It's not like its life or death, but it's just this unfamiliar feeling that I have yet to experience. I've had a plan. Ive always been the one, out of all my friends, with a plan. And I'm 100% Type A /Red personality where that plan was THE plan. And we all know that nothing goes according to plan. I'm actually excited for this unfamiliarity, and will probably have to have a constant reassurance that it will actually bring the absolute best things for me and my life.
This sounds super dramatic, now that I'm rereading it and I'd just like to make it clear that is has nothing to do with Keaton... Hahaha
Since about week 3 of college, I knew I wanted to be a Family and Consumer Science Education major and receive my secondary Ed teaching degree. And teach some type of FACS class.
I have had such confidence in myself that I would be great at it, and I truly enjoy going to school to learn how to sew, cook, raise children, decorate, and create budgets. But until I got my incredible job as a wedding host and have been immersed into this world of wedding planning, I didn't realize just how strongly I connected with it all.
And now with some really awesome (hopeful) job opportunities during this upcoming school year, it has all kind of worked itself out.
Let's just say you might not be seeing me in a high school classroom, but in a bridal store owned by yours truly.
Only time, a whole lotta faith, and some major decision making will tell.
No matter what, I know I will end up doing exactly what I need to be doing. Thats the beauty of it all.
Life is good.

remember me?
apparently i forgot i had a blog.
and if you have a blog of your own, you know the feeling of just being SO far behind that you just continue to put it off. And now i have three whole months FULL of blog worthy items that i just am not sure how to do it all.
bullets will probably be our best friends by the time this is through.
and thanks to instagram, i am reminded of things i did.
how lame is that?
but i gotta do what i gotta do...
and here we go.
- Birthday celebrations were great. spent it with the best family and friends i could ever have. i was spoiled and definitely milked it for all it was worth. from dinner, movie and ice cream with christy to karaoke night with my girls, and lunch with a fab friend and cutest wittle baby B, AND a delish ice cream cake to celebrate the start of my second decade of life. oh yeah and the announcement of my becoming an AUNT was pretty stellar. and when i say "pretty stellar", i mean i BAWLED and squealed for a good 15 minutes. i would say i lived that weekend to the fullest.
- i finished up my second year of college at USU. i am just growin up too darn fast. with the completion of the spring semester, i also had my last semester as a Resident Assistant. It was definitely my time to hang up the master keys, hand in my final roster verification, and say "See ya never" to on campus housing. I thoroughly enjoyed my two years on campus. they are two years that i will never ever forget and i can say that those two years involved the biggest changes and growth i have encountered thus far. i will always have a special place in my heart for bullen hall and valley view tower.
- good thing i have an even bigger place in my heart for my three floor, ten bedroom, 5 bath, beautiful home that i get to live in with my most best friends ever this next year. words cannot describe my excitement for this upcoming year. SOO much is going to happen and even though it may be a little intimidating to welcome that much amount of change within my group of friends, i wouldn't change our situation for anything. I am already antsy to get my booty back to logan. but first i gotta work previously mentioned booty off to save all the dough i possibly can.
- which brings me to my next bullet. i scored the best job. remember how obsessed with anything wedding i am? well i get to spend my days, nights, weekends, at weddings!! help plan, decorate, calm brides down, avoid scary mother of the brides at all costs, and mooch off the caterers for free food. oh yeah, and plan my whole entire future wedding, all while making a pretty penny. can i get a "HOLLA"???
- my sweet keaton has been out 9 months. i repeat, NINE MONTHS!!! i could be giving birth to a child right now with that amount of time. (no worries on that one though, we will leave all of that to kacey.) it blows my mind that this is still all happening, let alone a year has almost come and gone. it hasn't been easy, ask my poor mother who deals with my moods. but there is never a single day that i am not crazy about my russian and this experience. check out his blog here! he never ceases to amaze me. what a guy.
that is pretty much my life.
real exciting.
"buckle up, its gonna get wild" worthy?
not really, but i truly enjoy my life.
i am blessed every day with this life.
i wouldn't change a thing or trade it for the world.

i miss keat.
that's all.
but i couldn't imagine him doing anything other than serving a mission right now.
ive definitely had my sad moments,
but the good ones definitely make up for it.
i just had to get that off my chest.
im good.
now onto things you actually are interested in...
maybe.
actually, probably not.
but for my sanity i will continue.
you know, i have never really been a fan of valentine's day.
and ive even had a boyfriend for the last 4 out of 5 of them...haha
i have always been in las vegas for volleyball tournaments, or up at school like last year.
this year, i definitely had a little extra bitterness towards this holiday, but that is just me being a selfish and emotional teenage girl.
it turned out to be the best valentine's day EVER.
since my dad was in china and boyfriend was in russia,
mother and i decided to hit up the Lady Antebellum concert!
best decision we could have made!!!
seats were up high due to our late purchase on the tickets, but i could see everything and didn't mind.
ah.
it was magical.
powerful.
sexy. (really though)
so incredibly great.
and darius rucker just happened to be performing with them.
keat's fave.
i may or may not have shed a tear during the majority of his performance because all i could imagine was sitting next to keat in the car singing at the top of his lungs to these songs.
there is that emotional girl again...my bad.
mother told me to stop.
i didn't realize how ridiculous i probably looked until later and am only slightly embarrassed.
the tears were shed for a good cause, alright?
plus darius rucker is mighty good looking.
i didn't mind.
here are just a couple vids.
so anyway, concert was great. my valentine was greater, and the evening was solid.
no complaints here.
the next night was equally great.
my two best friends are co-directors of a club called Best Buddies.
a college student is paired up with someone with an intellectual disability.
there are events/activities each month and this month was a valentine's day dance.
i have been excited for this for over a month now!!
i am so lucky to be able to be involved with Best Buddies.
it makes me the happiest girl in town to be able to hang out with the coolest people.
everyone looked to snazzy all dressed up in their fancy clothes.
i think it is safe to say that we all danced our booties off on that dance floor.
this is Matt.
we danced and talked about how much we love watching movies
and his cute nieces and nephews and how he is their favorite uncle.
he has an impeccable memory.
he recited poems and star trek to me.
notice the tie.
simply the coolest guy around.
we all had a blast this night.
nice work Jo and Mel.
other than those lovely evenings, not much has been goin on in my world.
working the holiday coverage was uneventful.
full of harry potter, sappy romance movies, and weird illness.
for the win.
only twoooo point five weeks until spring break.
oh yeah.
and my BIRTHDAY.
stay classy.
love you all.
