day fourteen.

someone I could never imagine my life without.

this pretty lady.

my twin sister kacey. now not really my twin, but some seem to think we are. daily. she is probably one of the funniest people I know. She is really pretty, and I miss her a lot when I am in Logan for a long time. She just graduated from USU in May. Now that she is home, I decided to take her spot in the 435. We pretty much switched places...another reason for people to get us confused! but she really is great. we only have each other, so that makes us really close. i am glad she is my sister and i am glad we are best friends. sure we bug each other...a lot. but hey, we are sisters. it is what we are supposed to do. and we always are laughing at each other within 10 minutes. LOVE YOU SEEEESTER.

catch up...

so much for being this super great and constant blogger right?
ehhh oh well. i don't really feel too bad about because i have been enjoying myself waaayyy too much to feel guilty that i am not blogging :)

day 7: someone/thing that has had the biggest impact on my life

My Savior, Jesus Christ, easily has the biggest impact in my life. everything I do, everyday revolves around the gospel and each choice I make is made with Him in mind. I am eternally grateful to be a member of this Church. It has brought so much joy to my life and helped in unimaginable ways. I love Him. Especially during this holiday season and really reflecting on The Greatest Gift we have ever received, has opened my heart to the true meaning of Christmas. I am who I am because of this gospel, and there is nothing I am more grateful for.

Day 8: a picture that makes me laugh

that face you see, on the right side of me...
miss allie lundberg.
probably the funniest person the on the planet. it is impossible for to take a normal photo..but hey...they is a normal photo for allie. she is a gem.

day 9: someone who has gotten me through the most..

this is my momma. she truly has helped me with any little thing that has ever happened in my life. she is my number 1 fan, my support, my best friend, and the world's best mom. from never missing a volleyball game, to staying up with me til 3 am finishing an essay, she has proved to me that there is nothing she loves more than her family. i hope some day in the future, my children will look up to me and love me as much as i love my mom.

day 10: who i can see myself marrying

SURPRISE SURPRISE... :)

this kid is my best friend. hands down. Keaton is my go-to person on anything and everything. he truly is the person that keeps me sane, keeps me happy and laughing, and keeps me down to earth. i have NO idea how i got so lucky to call him mine. i am so proud of him. he makes me want to be better. he never fails to open my door, laugh at me when i think i am funny, answer any of my silly questions, and always put up with my outrageous competitiveness. it has been a year and a half and in just a few months he puts his mission papers in. it's gonna be rough, but i couldn't be more proud of him. we've got a long road ahead of us, but there is no one else i could imagine walking this road with.

double dose.

{a place I have been...}

hmm...in my life, the majority of my vacations have been the cause of out of state volleyball tournaments...

one in particular though, was for Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia...thus sparking my love for southern accents.
While there, my whole team got to go spend a whole day here...

it was a BLAST!! the roller coasters were massive! I really hope to go back someday!

{a picture that shows my true self}

fierce, unpredictable, not afraid to show the UGLIEST/SCARIEST picture of myself to the internet, and I'd like to think, quite funny :)

Day 4...

{a habit i wish i didn't have...}

which one to choose from??!! sheesh...
this would probably be my number one at this point in my life...

my parents have always taught me to only spend money on the necessities...
too bad I used to and sometimes might still think a pair of jeans is a necessity, when it might not be.

too bad there aren't too many of these...

but I'm working on it!!
I promise!

Day 3 with my dearest, CRAZIEST friend...

I am not even sure this photo needs an explanation...

this is my dear friend Mariah or better known as Mern. She is easily the craziest and funniest friend that I have. I am so grateful that I can call her a best friend. We actually go a long way back, playing murray girls softball together since we were about 10. we then got to be really close senior year during volleyball season. she is one of the reasons that I will never forget that season. I love her so much. I know that whenever we are together it is bound to be a great time. She is in Powell, WY playing basketball at Northwest College. I miss her A LOT!! but am SOOO proud of her. She is a super star :)

...and I know if I am ever craving mexican food, she is my go-to-girl for some company :)

and so it lives on...

1993:

2010:

The Dickens Festival returned this year and my mother thought it a must to get a photo with Father Christmas, hoping it would turn out more "presentable" than the first...although it is quite the conversation starter during the holidays as it's presented in the front room.

It has been 14 years since the festival has been in Salt Lake. You better believe there is another photo, yet not as exciting as the first photo. I was actually pretty excited to see what the Dickens Festival was really like. I was so little and apparently, did not have the best memories of my experiences. The parents, Grandma Sylvia, Kacey, her boyfriend, Jordan, and my boyfriend, Keaton, all piled in the car and made the journey. It was pretty fun and I enjoyed myself. It seemed to be more of a swap meet with vendors dressed up in grungy old English costumes speaking in less than perfect English accents. Nevertheless, it was fun spending time with family and really getting to experience and be aware of what the Dickens Festival really entails and is all about. It would be fun to keep the tradition of the Father Christmas pictures going, wouldn't it? Who knows, maybe Kacey and I will have pictures with our own future children and that old man...

the four of us with Father Christmas.

After the festival, we all headed off to the annual Ashton Family Christmas Party at This is the Place State Park! I love going there each year! It is fun to see the family and get to know my relatives who I don't get to see very often. Dad delighted everyone with a few Christmas carols on his guitar. I always love hearing him sing and play.
My favorite part was when the Christmas Carolers came in and entertained us with their INCREDIBLE voices. hopefully I will figure out how to post a video on here to share.

All in all, the day and weekend home was fab. I can't wait to get these dang finals over with and be on my way home for Christmas break.

and don't forget what this season is all about. you can never remind yourself enough...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

home for the holidays...

Oh that is all that has been on my mind lately. I spent a wonderful week home for Thanksgiving. Spent time with fam, had din at Grandma Wendy's and Grandpa Neil's, then again at home with Grandma Donna and Grandpa Roger. It was great being with family that I don't get to see very often. I ate too much though, but what's new right?

One of my best friends Mariah plays basketball at Northwest College in Powell, WY. Fortunately she had two games at SLCC during the break. Tayvia, who nannies in New York, also got to visit home for a few days. Abby was home from Ephraim, Alexis was home from Weber, and Rosie was feeling well enough to get out of the house for a bit!
I cannot express how excited I was to finally get to be with these girls again. We all complete each other and honestly, I know, will be life long friends. They are all so great and we have all been through so much together. We don't see each other hardly ever anymore because of school and other plans and so when we finally have time to spend together, we definitely make it fun and exciting. I love how nothing changes between us no matter how long it has been since we were last together.
I LOVE MY GIRLS!!

this was one night during the summer, one of my favorite pictures of my girls.
I cannot wait until we are all back home for Christmas and have soo much fun together again!
