wish list '14

I know. I KNOW. we still have another week until Thanksgiving, but my brain has been seeing red and green for weeks now. (our tree may or may not have been up for a week already….)
Everything is always just a bit more exciting when you are a newlywed and have a place of your own to decorate and a husband to start new traditions with. It's all very exciting.
I'm not one to forget the "reason for the season", but I do enjoy some pretty things.
And that is why I have thrown together a little wish list for the 2014 season.
We have been given SO much this year and I am forever grateful. That is why I want to put an emphasis on "WISH" list. These are fun things that I have always wanted, but couldn't afford, or they weren't on a big enough discount for my "bargain brain".

This list contains some major WANTS instead of NEEDS, but it's my list so I will do what I want.

i would DIE. Use it every day and annoy the crap out of my poor husband-always asking to pose or "seriously, smile cute this time". Anyone else guilty of this?
It sure is pretty, but one can only dream…

s'cute, right?

a girl can never have too many.
And that dark navy color is really catching' my fancy these chilly days!

This looks like something I could wear to work or take a nap in it. Done deal.

If you haven't been to the container store at Fashion Place Mall yet, you're nuts. This is practically heaven on earth.
I would be happy with any/every thing in this place!

I'm so down for these yummy bebes.

I've been fawning over these for months.
My wrist needs it.

I'm a simple girl, really...
Happy Shopping y'all.

4monthiversary honeymoon throwback

Today is our 4 monthiversary! It still feels like a dream that I am a wife… until I see a sink full of dishes or wake up to a handsome man next to me.

Keaton treated me to yummy dinner at the Cheesecake Factory tonight.
In between stuffing our faces with delish bread and ordering our overpriced entrees, I asked Keat what his fave moments have been in the last 4 months.
He immediately answered with "Our Honeymoon". Even though that was a whole 4months ago, I could not agree more. It was seriously the most relaxing and enjoyable week of our lives.
We spent the week in Southern California. It wasn't fancy or over the top, but it was just what we needed.
We decided to drive to Las Vegas the first day. We stayed in a snazzy suite in the Monte Carlo over looking the strip. We had never stayed in a place that nice, so we totally felt like a celeb. Tell people you are on your honeymoon and you will get star quality treatment, no joke!
The next day, we were off to SoCal. Warm temps, sunny skies, and the beach were the only things we really wanted…and that is exactly what we got!
We spent the entire week at different beaches, eating yummy food, enjoying baseball games and finally letting it set in that we were actually married and this was real life.

It was the best week. Traveling with my HUSBAND, doing what we wanted to do and not having a care in the world definitely qualifies as a successful honeymoon. I wouldn't mind a 4 monthiversary moon.

Some highlights of the week:

  • Doing a session at the San Diego Temple
  • a SIXTEEN inning Anaheim Angels game.
    • we almost called it quits at inning 15, but decided to stay just ONE more inning. Thanks Mike Trout for pulling off that victory for us!
  • Medieval Times. I had never been and wasn't the biggest fan of eating with my hands (GERMS!), but Keat absolutely loved it as a kid, so we went. It sure was entertaining. Also, our knight won #WINNING
  • We were trying to find a new beach because huntington was PACKED. We stopped at one down the PCH. Ended up being a dog beach. Made us want a pup of our own so bad. It turned out to be one of the best beach days we had all week!!
  • Our suite at the Monte Carlo has a jacuzzi in it. Let's be honest...#honeymoon #dreamcometrue
  • Riding bikes along the beach. What's not to love?

just your average Fall photos.

Let's be honest… Everyone in the state of Utah has gotten their picture by a brightly colored autumn tree or in the gorgeous mountain scenery. I absolutely do not blame them. This has been the longest fall I think I have ever experienced. Of course, I had FOMO (fear of missing out) and totally wanted my photo taken with some fall-time beauty behind me!
Plus, I def didn't want to use a wedding photo for a holiday card this year, so it was a must that we get out there asap.
I couldn't spend a ton of money by hiring a pro photog, even though I certainly wanted to!
We decided to just go take our own photos at Wheeler Farm (I know, so cliche) but they actually turned out pretty decent! Anna, Keat's youngest sister met us there to snap a couple pics. -We paid her in starbucks gift cards.

Honestly, we only needed ONE solid photo for the card, but to my surprise, we actually got a few great ones!
Now we have a choice! Which I kind of don't like…haha.
If you know me, you know that I am the MOST INDECISIVE human being you will ever meet. I get anxiety and find sooo many unnecessary pros and cons with everything. This applies to way too many aspects in my life, but that is a whole different post…

So, let's see if any of you have opinions? I'd love some input.
Plz & Thnx

ps. don't mind our basic pose in almost every single one of these… we aren't the most creative/experienced models.

We did try the whole "Throw leaves in the air while looking awesome and in love"…it's harder than it looks, apparently.

I'd love to hear what you guys think! (all 37 of you followers…)

7.12.14 || Reception Pt. 2

Our reception was so wonderful. Even though we were in our receiving line for almost 2 whole hours, I really didn't mind it at all!! I was so happy to see every single person that was there and thank them for coming. I saw so many friends that I hadn't in a while and it was really great that they took the time to come and support us and celebrate!
Even though we didn't get to eat any of our Rita's Italian Ice, I'm glad our guests enjoyed it.
And although the golf carts that we rented to shuttle our guests from the church to the reception died 20 minutes in, everyone still showed up. (We have the best family members who immediately got in their cars and shuttled people back and forth!!)

All of the decorations are random pieces from the DI or things that I already had or collected from various antique stores and just spray painted or made them look gold.
My great-aunt, who is also my boss at This Is The Place, helped with my flowers! It was so much fun having all my aunts, my grandma, mom and sister together two days before, arranging all of the centerpieces, bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres - yes I looked up how to spell that. I decided I wanted to incorporate the gold into my flowers, so I spray painted about half of the baby's breath that we ordered. We ordered the flowers wholesale and that saved us a lot of money! Plus, it was super fun!! I've always wanted to work in a flower shop and I think that is the closest I will ever get!

Our cake was given to us as a gift and I am SO grateful for that! I didn't want anything spectacular because I didn't want to be left with cake for months after the wedding! I love the multiple cake style that is popular right now, so we went with 3 different sized cakes. I found the cake stands at random shops in Salt Lake. We just put some left over baby's breath around the edges and that was that!

We had so many generous friends who were willing to help with so many things! We can't thank everyone enough for all of the help and support we were shown the months leading up to the wedding and on the actual day! It was the perfect day! I think it should be a new tradition that you have anniversary parties every year! Why not?! It would be a blast! I wouldn't mind wearing my dress again.

Here are the rest of the photos from that evening:

Perfect day/night doesn't even begin to describe this day.
See you at our one year anni party 7.12.15
